There is going to be some competition in Jailbroken App Store as with the introduction of new alternative to Cydia Store known as Lima Jailbreak app store installer.
Infini Dev Team also reveal that they are working on alternate Cydia Store and that will allow users who have jailbroken their iOS device to install jailbreak apps and tweaks through iPhone’s mobile Safari browser.
Infini Dev Team has recently also taken up the responsibility of supporting Icy – one of the early jailbreak app installers developed by Ripdev and has already managed to get it to work on the iPad on iOS 4.3.2.
Infini Dev Team has provided the following information about Lima:
Lima is going to be a browser-based dpkg Installer. Meaning all you have to do is visit a website in safari and you have a fully fucntional package installer!
Here is the video to give a sneak preview of how it will work:
James A. Matoe – one of the members of the Infini Dev Team has also revealed on Twitter that they’ll prevent piracy of apps from the App Store by blocking repositories that allow users to install cracked iPhone apps, which is a good thing as jailbreaking ends up getting a bad name due to the piracy issue.
According to iphonedownloadblog:
Icy functions a lot like Cydia does. You can add sources, view recently added packages, and search for almost anything. Essentially it’s just a different portal to the jailbreak community, as it supports all working repositories (except for pirated ones).
Lets us know about how you feel of installing jailbreak apps using iPhone’s Safari browser instead of using Cydia?
