Apple clear old stock, ahead of iPad 2 launch

Your chance of owning an extra iPad or two for the kids after the next gen model debuts on March 2, may be out of luck. A report claims that Apple has stopped shipping the original iPad to retails outlet.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple has stopped production of the first iPad and is no longer transporting to stores, which means that Apple resellers are limited to just what stock they have on hand and don’t know when they’ll be getting any more.

The only guess where a lot of iPads will be there is the Apple on line store as since none of the models are marked “out of stock,” but there’s no way to tell how much inventory they have on hand, as they aren’t going to tell us anyway.
