Apple has its retail stores all over the world and now Apple has plans to open some retail stores in India, a country is a big market for Apple products due to its large population and one of the fastest growing economies in the world.
According to some reports published on Friday, 20 January 2012 Apple has plans to launch a physical retail presence in India in near future, most likely before the end of 2012. A source from India’s Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion revealed that talks with the Apple Inc were going on. Now it seems that all the decks for Apple’s entry have been cleared.
Apple Inc. has made this move following the Indian government’s decision to allow full ownership of single-brand retail stores by foreign companies.
There are 900 million users in India, according to some business estimates. India also sports one of the world’s biggest communities of Internet users (approximately 120 million). Thus, there is a huge revenue potential for Apple in India.
However, Apple has not commented on this rumor.
