Saudi Arabia will see Apple fans rejoicing as Apple receives the license to operate by the SAGIA (Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority). According to a local news report Apple has been given clearance to fully function in the region with the subsidiary name as “Apple, Saudi Arabia.” The license will allow Apple to market, maintain and develop products in the geography.

The earlier sales channel for Apple in Saudi Arabia was majorly third-party resellers for marketing and maintaining iPhones, iPads, Macs and other products. Though Apple’s website is not yet updated with the announcement and shows the old Ireland-based subsidiary name “Apple Distribution International”.

Apple fans in Saudi Arabia have been yearning for this change since years but its still not clear whether Apple will outrightly open up official retail stores in the region.
