Apple induce touch panel shortage, delaying RIM PlayBook

According to the latest report, RIM PlayBook which was set to launch on April 19 in the US and Canada was reportedly delayed for a month because of a shortage in touch panels.

According to BGR:

“The touch screen panel creator has made note that the PlayBook shipments were schedule for about a month from the initial schedule as due to a delay in software testing. Another reason for the shortage of touch panels is because Apple already booked up most of the available capacity.”

The RIM PlayBook starts at $499.
