Apple investigates iPhone 3.1’s poor battery life
Since the iPhone OS 3.1 has been released at Apple’s media event earlier this month, there has been complains about its battery life, which according to users has been reduced. Now, many of these users that have complained, are being contacted by AppleCare helpdesk with a list of questions to their iPhone usage, whether they have push, WiFi and Bluetooth enabled and if they are running App Store apps. AppleCare helpdesk is not sure of what cause this sudden power drop, and they don’t know if it’s just a battery icon issue or something more technical than that.
Users that have complained, are being sent a configuration profile called “Battery Life Logging”, which tracks the battery usage data, and when synced to iTunes, users are asked to send the data to Apple.
