Apple Planning To Extend Bluetooth Support In iOS

So far, manufacturers have not really adopted the wireless technology of Apple like Apple had hoped it would.

Macotakara, a well-known Japanese blog that leaks the information about Apple’s current or future plans is reporting that Apple is rethinking wireless connectivity in iOS. Apparently, Apple has a keen interest in Bluetooth.

According to reports in Macotakara, Apple had hosted a MFI (Made for iPhone/iPad/iPod) Conference last week in Shenzen, China. They revealed their plans about start providing a new connectivity chip that would encourage more iOS-compatible accessories.

The chip will be allowing hardware to interact with iOS via Wi-Fi, AirPlay and Bluetooth. We want to remind our readers that the recently released products of Apple like iPhone 4S, Mac Minis and MacBook Airs have included Bluetooth 4.0.

Apple is planning to bring low-energy wireless technology to the next generation of Apple TV. There have been rumors about Apple working on AirPlay-over-Bluetooth after which, there would be no need for a Wi-Fi network.
