Apple TV Sales Begin In Brazil
After bringing iTunes to Brazil and Latin America, Apple has released its set-top-box known as Apple TV in Brazil. On the Brazilian online Apple store, the hobby project is available for R$ 399,00, or approximately $217. In United States, the price is $99.
Brazil is the first BRIC nation to receive Apple TV. According to Strategic Analytics Analysis, Apple TV is set to capture nearly one-third, or 32 percent, of the set-top box market in the US 2011. This estimation has been made on the basis of projected sales of four million units.
There are expectations of a hardware update that would include (in addition to regular features) 1080p video output and Bluetooth 4.0 technology.
