Apple sold a record 37 million iPhones and 15.7 million iPads in the holiday quarter.
A $500 billion marketcap has also given Apple an almost $90 billion lead as the world’s most valuable company over oil-giant Exxon. Apple has also become bigger than Google that has a $200 billion marketcap.
On 28 February 2012, Apple closed the day at 535.41 points. However, it quickly rose to 536 points in after hours trading. This gave Apple its remarkable half-trillion dollar accomplishment.
