Apple’s Former PR head Katie Cotton To Be Replaced By Jay Carney

Jay Carney Holds White House Press Briefing

Apple is planning to replace their current PR head Katie Cotton with former White House Press Secretary Jay Carney. Re/Code’s Kara Swisher expressed that Jay Carney’s name is “being bandied about” for the position.

Jay Carney’s history reveals that he has served as White House Press Secretary from 2011 until June, 2014. Before that, Carney served as the director of communications for Vice President Joe Biden prior to which he was the Washington bureau chief for Time magazine.

Apple’s PR head, Katie Cotton was employed as VP of worldwide corporate communications until retirement back in May. Katie has worked for more than 20 years under the leadership of Steve Jobs and Tim Cook. She was familiar among Apple executives as someone being intensely protective and serving as a watch over.
