China Telecom has arrived at a preliminary agreement with Apple to supply two models of iPhone by the last week of October. The two models can be an iPhone 5 and a simplified iPhone 4, as reported by Ticonderoga Securities analyst Brian White.
Brian White says that Sohu.com has provided the information about China Telecom offering two types of iPhone model which include the iPhone 5 and a simplified iPhone 4. White also says that the simplified iPhone 4 will be an inexpensive version of iPhone which has the potential to target a wider customer base in emergent countries like such as China.
White also revealed that the high end section of China Telecom subscriber base is around 13 to 15 million and that correspond a present revenue apportunity for the iPhone of $8 to $9million. lastly White adds, if Apple provides a more reasonable and simplified iPhone 4 then the opportunity with China Telecom can be much bigger.
