Sharp is launching another e-reader, and also they have another two products coming up at this year end. It seems Sharp has set a December launch date for its Galapagos line of e-readers, which will be marketed with a cloud-based e-bookstore. It was also reported that the two models will be available, a 5.5” “mobile” version in black or silver and a 10.8” “home” version in black.
According to Sharp, they are planning to have 30,000 periodicals and e-books available when the tablets go on sale in December. For now, no prices have been out. It was learnt that Galapagos won’t be going up against the iPad and Kindle for holiday shopping this year as Sharp plan to begin selling the e-reader in Japan, with no plans announced so far to offer it in US. May be sharp feels that Apple and Kindle products will overshadow their company products
