DigiTimes reports that Apple has included Taiwan-based Integrated circuit design house to company supply chain for the upcoming iPad 3. The Apple did so as to modify the tablets’ cost arrangement to compete against the various rivals releasing this year.
iML is rumored to have acquire orders of its integrated programmable gamma/Vcom buffer solution as from the iPad 3 supply chain. It was also mentioned that numerous gamma/Vcom buffer solutions are taken in touch panels for smartphone and tablet PC applications.
The IC solutions which are already been added or probable to be added to iPad 3 supply chain include Novatek’s LCD driver ICs, Capella’s ambient light sensors and Richtek’s integrated power management ICs. But still none of the IC vendors has confirmed these reports.
