This past Thursday, we told you about a rumor surrounding iPad 3. Now we are confirming that it was a rumor.
According to DigiTimes’ latest claim, Apple was to unveil two new iPad models at the MacWorld conference in January. However, 24 hours later, on Friday, 30 December 2011, Jim Dalrymple of The Loop may have laid that rumor to rest, effectively.
From The Loop:
“Reports began circulating earlier today that Apple would release two new iPads at Macworld Expo in January. These rumors are completely false. I checked with a number of my sources today and an iPad 3 is not planned for release at Macworld. In case you’re wondering, an iPad 3 won’t be released at CES either.”
For those who are not familiar with Dalrymple, we would like to remind them that he is the former Editor at Large of Macworld with a history of breaking Apple news. When he calls something a rumor or fact, people, especially Apple fanboys pay attention. Jim has also denied the launch of Apple’s TV Set in January. However, he did not deny whether Apple actually had plans to launch TV Set.
