Rumors about Apple never stop. Given the reputation that Apple has the world and market of technology, rumors surrounding Apple and its gadgets keep doing rounds. As if rumors on iPad 3 were not enough, now here comes the first rumor for iPad 4, despite iPad 3 remains yet to be released.
Unless we do not hear it from Apple, we have to assume that it is a rumor.
According to the latest rumor, the launch of the iPad 3 in March will result in price-cut of iPad 2, possibly to fend off competition from non-iPad vendors including Sony, Motorola Mobility and Samsung Electronics. In this regard, Apple’s potential competitors also include BlackBerry PlayBook, the Amazon Kindle Fire and the possibility of a Nexus Tablet.
According to the sources of DigiTimes, the cost of the iPad 2 is likely to be slashed to $399 (around £250). This happened with the original iPad prior to launch of the iPad 2 last year.
The unnamed sources said that despite having a highly detailed screen (reportedly 2048 x 1536 QXGA resolution) iPad 3 “may not be so amazing as expected”.
The rumor does not stop here. It goes on to tell that iPad 4 will arrive in market in late October, possibly when the first Windows 8 tablets are due to arrive. The Windows 8 OS, reportedly coming with Xbox Kinect-esque motion detection, will be marking Microsoft’s entry into the tablet market.
There are speculations that both tablets will feature quad-core A6 processors. The iPad 3 reportedly will feature a 5-megapixel sensor while the iPad 4 will boast a more powerful 8-megapixel camera. There are some rumors of a similar camera to be featured in iPad 3 as well.
