Rumors of the next generation iPad are doing rounds again. Earlier there were rumors that iPad 3 would be released in February 2012. But what would be the exact date?
According to reports published in Focus Taiwan, that also cited a local report in the Chinese Economic Times newspaper, Apple is preparing to launch iPad 3 on Steve Jobs’ birthday anniversary Feb. 24. Apple is yet to officially announce the name and the release date of new iPad. The enthusiastic Apple fanboys have named it iPad 3.
The detail apparently may have come from sources in the iPad supply chain in Taiwan.
It is being said that component makers for the iPad 3 are reportedly need to keep working during the Lunar New Year holiday to meet Apple’s approaching deadline. Launch of the iPad 3 is expected to exceed 4 million units.
It is being said that iPad 3 would be a new gadget and would be a lot different from previous generations of iPad.
There are speculations that Foxconn employees may allegedly only be able to take off five days during the Lunar New Year, if they are part of the iPad division. In addition, employees at Catcher Technology, which supplies casings to Apple, will also have to work overtime during the holiday.
At least some employees at Simplo Technology (supplying batteries), Amer International Group (providing connectors) and Genius Electronic Optical( producing optical lenses) will be required to work during the holiday.
It remains to be seen whether Apple would actually launch iPad on 24 February 2011.
