iPad orientation lock switch replaced with mute iOS 4.2

It was reported that a text notes accompanying AppAdvice’s video walkthrough of the new iOS 4.2 for iPad and it suggests that the physical switch on the iPad’s side for locking the screen orientation has been replaced by the word as a mute switch. The change has been confirmed by this posters.

Now screen orientation locking is accomplished within the multitasking tray as on the iPhone under iOS 4 because with the recent changes taken place. The interesting part is that earlier it was actually plan for switch as in the originally planned to be a mute switch but was re purposed as an orientation lock as revealed in publicity materials published just weeks before the device’s launch.
