iPhone 3G S 4x faster than 3G results Benchmark Test

fplarge51Since it’s release, the third generation of iPhone, Branded as iPhone 3G S, there has been many speculations on actual speed gain by the 3G S.

A benchmark test performed by AnandTech between iPhone 3G, iPhone 3G S, Palm Pre and G1 to see which of the three was the fastest in app launch and web rendering.

AnandTech found a 122% speed improvment on web performance by iPhone 3G s over it’s predecessor and around 22.6% improvment in the 3G S over Palm Pre in same test. iPhone 3G S was also ahead of the race in app launching with 14-72% improvements over the iPhone 3G.

Additionally, TapTapTap reports with tests :

As the video shows, in our OpenGL ES testing, the 3GS is generally close to four times faster than the 3G. Results will vary depending on the application but this is remarkable to say the least.
