Apple fanboys in some more countries are smiling as iPhone 4S is now available in 20 more countries. With the latest release in 20 countries, Apple has released iPhone 4S in all major markets of the world except China.
On 16 December 2011, Apple released iPhone 4S in Bahrain, Brazil, Chile, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Morocco, Peru, the Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Vietnam.
According to online reports, many nations are paying incredible markups for Apple’s products. In Brazil, the cheapest iPhone 4S, the 16 GB model, costs over US $1400 while in United States, the most expensive 64 GB model costs $849. This maybe because of high import duties in Brazil. It may be cheaper for Brazilians to travel to some other nation and buy iPhone 4S because then they can get it at a cheaper price.
The prices are high in Russia as well where the cheapest model costs US $1200.
It remains to be seen how these high prices would affect the sales of iPhone 4S in these countries.
