The arrival of iPhone 5 will certainly be a relief because rumors about the next phone from Apple are making us more and more eager to witness its arrival.
Analyst Brian White from Topeka Capital Markets has recently finished a tour of technology factories in China and Taiwan and was pretty excited about what he saw.
The Business Insider reported:
“In our view, this will be the most significant iPhone upgrade with a four-inch screen and a new, sleek look that we believe will require a Unibody case.”
Of course this report is bound to rise impatience to see iPhone 5.
Brian White said, “Our sense is that some suppliers will begin production of certain components during the month of June, however, this does not necessarily mean the iPhone 5 will launch in June or even July. In our view, a August/September launch may make more sense given the iPhone 4S was just launched in October 2011.”
Meanwhile, a firmware update has led to speculations that Apple is already testing some iPhone 5 handsets, which have been cleverly hidden within iPhone 4S bodies so as not to be spotted in the wild.
“This iPhone that we are describing is an internal-only unit built for testing the performance of a new chip in an iPhone, not an actual phone that Apple will produce,” a report on 9to5 Mac said.
The prototypes of iPhone 5 are thought to use a version of the A5X processor that has been used in the recently released new iPad (also known as iPad 3) and have the same 1GB of memory as the tablet PC.
All of these things suggest that there will be usual queues outside Apple stores and insane levels of hype in August/September 2012. White agreed and said, “We believe the iPhone 5 ramp for the December quarter could be extraordinary, dwarfing previous launches and driving the stock closer to our $1,001 price target.”
