iTunes in the cloud in UK Before 2012 at Earliest

At WWDC 2011, Apple announced the much awaited cloud based music service called as ‘iTunes in the Cloud’. However, folk at UK will need to wait for some few months.

The UK Telegraph has mention that Apple cloud based music service won’t make it to UK before 2012 .

According to music analyst, the reason behind the delay was unresolved issue with music rights and royalties.

A spokesman for the Performing Right Society (PRS), which ensures that composers, songwriters and music publishers are paid for their work, told The Telegraph, that negotiations with Apple about ensuring rights in the UK had started but were at a “very early stage.”

It was also known that the talks between the licensing team at PRS with Apple has commenced. But according to sources the deals is a long way off from being signed.
