Questions were raised whether Google’s tablet be able to compete with iPad, given the latter’s popularity.
Recently, Google CEO Larry Page was also asked during recent earnings conference about Google’s plans for the tablet market.
Page admitted that Google had stiff competition. While he did not mention the iPad, the Apple tablet was the 800 pound gorilla in the room.
Page said that Google would focus on low-end tablet market comprising of tablets made by Kindle Fire and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 2 (along with other players). Rumors continue to claim Google will offer a direct tablet along the lines of smartphones in the Nexus series in the past. So far, there has been no confirmation of that direct Google tablet from Page.
