Passwords Not Required For App Store Updates And Previous Purchases In iOS 6

Rdio Version 1.3.9

Given the app store security, a thief who steals your iPhone cannot run up a huge iTunes bill. But for some people, entering password each and every time when there is a need to download updates or previous purchases, can be tiresome. These purchases already been paid for.

Still it is necessary?

Thankfully, in iOS 6 and OS X Mountain Lion, it would not be necessary anymore.

No matter how long it has been since you entered your account password in the App Store or the Mac App Store, you would not need to re-enter it just to download updates or previous purchases with iOS 6 and OS X Mountain Lion.

Apple has also made another welcome change. When you download an app, you will no longer be sent to your home screen. The App Store will remain open and you will be able to continue browsing until you are done.

Finally, when you come across an app that you already own, the App Store will present a link that would allow you to open it up automatically, without having to find the app on your home screen yourself.
