We all hope that many airlines will follow Qantas’ lead, especially the ones too cheap to put entertainment consoles in their seatbacks.
iPad is a natural for air travel, with its compact size, large screen and wide variety of available entertainment options. Australian airline Qantas is taking advantage of those features to provide in-flight entertainment to passengers on its Jetstar flights.
Since June, the airline has been testing the iPads, giving passengers the opportunity to rent one for $10, and the idea has been so popular that Qantas is ready for wider usage. A spokesman for Jetstar stated: “We’re in the final stages of putting in place what would be a broader roll out across the network. We’re in ongoing discussion with the manufacturer around a more integrated network proposition.”
Hopefully, the iPad will be able to access a large assortment of movies, TV shows, music, magazines and other entertainment options and also other Airlines will follow the suite to avoid long boring flight.
