Now that 9 December 2011 has passed and the sales of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 are legal in Australia, encouraged by Victory, Samsung is planning to launch a new tablet in February 2012 to defeat Apple. Samsung wishes to unveil it to Mobile World Congress in February.

The new tablet will be 11.6-inch and will be running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The slate of new tablet will have 2560 x 1600 resolution and 11.6-inch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The tablet will be using a dual core Exynos 5250 CPU clocked at 2 GHz.

Another buzz is doing rounds that Apple’s A6 CPU will be similar to Samsung’s CPU that carries a dual-core Cortex A15 chip.

Samsung’s tablet will also be featuring Android Beam for easy syncing of media with a Galaxy Nexus. The special wireless docking mode will be there for gaming on HDTVs. Samsung aims to compete with Apple TV with this. Airplay will also be available in the tablet.
