This year, TV advertisements featuring Santa Claus are appealing most to the audience and impressing them most.
When Target can have their slow-motion running Santa and Best Buy can show Santa usurped by a proud mother then Apple can also show how Santa Claus values Apple products. However, there is always one advertisement that attracts viewers more than other advertisements.
TV ad analysis firm Ace Metrix named Apple’s advertisement the most effective. This is the same advertisement that showed Santa Claus carrying an iPhone 4S and using Siri.
Ace Metrix measured and analyzed viewer reactions to commercials from advertising vets like Coca-Cola (polar bears), Pillsbury, Nintendo and more, which shows that Apple has scored an impressive victory over various brands that are giants in their field. The Santa Siri advertisement earned 652 out of a possible 950 points from a group of randomly selected viewers who rated the commercials on the basis of relevance, persuasion, watchability, information and additional metrics. This was roughly eight percent higher than other tech companies in the study.
The survey of Ace Metrix that companies who used Santa in their holiday season ads performed better than ads without Santa during the season. Most companies may have figured this out as this holiday season, Santa Claus was featured in 35 different ads.
