It seems Apple’s iPhone 4 is set to catch up Samsung Galaxy S which is currently the fastest selling mobile phone in South Korea. According to the report it says that it will be available for pre-order on Wednesday in the country, the high-end Apple device already registered impressive interest from users in South Korea with over 130,000 pre-orders placed in about 13 hours.
According to wireless carrier KT, which has exclusivity on the device in the country, the first 60,000 pre-orders were placed before 9:45 a.m. yesterday.
Apple launched its iPhone in South Korea at the end of 2009. The iPhone 3GS was brought to the country at that time. For comparison the previous iPhone model registered a number of 14,500 pre-orders during the first day while hitting 65,000 after five days.
Since the handset’s release about nine months ago, KT managed to move only a number of around 850,000 iPhone 3GS units.
Now is likely that iPhone will overtake Samsung Galaxy s in South Korea, if it goes well according to the report.
