Apple and Samsung are back with their usual “patent battles” again.
This latest Samsung/Apple lawsuit is expected to hit the courts by March 2014 and therefore both parties are busy gathering arms.. Oops! I meant rival products. What I meant was, since there is ample of time before the trial takes place; both the companies are trying to expand the compass of their matter by including the latest products from each company.
Samsung has earlier alleged that three recent products from Apple, including the iPad mini and iPhone 5 has infringed on patents. To answer Samsung with the same vigour, Apple also brought a motion to include several recent Samsung products, including the Jelly Bean operating system, Galaxy S III, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy Tab 8.9 Wifi, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, Rugby Pro and Samsung S III Mini. Paul S. Grewal, Magistrate Judge of U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, San Jose division in his order on Thursday also raised the possibility that Apple’s latest tablets may also be allowed to be added if Samsung requests their inclusion.
So here is our situation, till this matter doesn’t hit the court, everything that these companies manufacture will be a subject of dispute. Therefore the threat remains that whichever company wins will endeavour to ban the products of the other, means, if u buy iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy Note II today you don’t know if it will be banned in future. In short you are damned.
You agree? Will you (by any chance) save yourself from buying these products till disputes are over?
