The Dark Knight Rises, the third installment in Nolan’s Batman film series and a sequel to the Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008), has hit the big screen.
Earlier we reported that a game created by Gameloft which is based on the movie would be be released soon. Now it is here.
You heard it right! The official game of The Dark Knight Rises is there in the App Store. You can download it and play it on your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
The game has dozens of missions and random events that task you to deal with hostage situations, bomb squads, prison breaks (or escapes) and car chases. An elaborate fighting system is also part of the deal, letting you master a bunch of different moves and cinematic effects.
As is the norm these days, you can also collect items scattered throughout the city to unlock upgrades and new fighting skills. The release notes do not mention Retina support. Thus, it may come later by way of a free update.
This is a trailer for the game:
The Dark Knight Rises is available now in the App Store for $6.99. Its size is 819MB.
The game is compatible with the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, third and fourth-generation iPod Touch and all iPad models running iOS 4.0 or later. Very soon, the Dark Knight Rises will also land on Android devices via Google’s Play Store.
Lastly, another good news for all Bat-Fans. You can pick up Warner Brothers’ Batman Arkham City Lockdown for just 99 cents, down from its usual asking price of six bucks.
