Top 5 Cydia Apps for iPhone [Jailbreak]

Here are the Top 5 Cydia Apps for iPhone (2011)

Backgrounder

There is a very promising new app called Backgrounder that all jailbroken iPhones can run that will enable multiple iPhone apps to run at the same time. Backgrounder is a Mobile Substrate-based extension to Apple’s SpringBoard application launcher that allows applications to run in the background (applications are normally terminated upon suspension)
Backgrounder
The Backgrounder app is available for download from Cydia, your one stop source for all jailbroken apps. Once installed, you can send any app to background simply by holding the Home button until you get a pop up showing “Backgrounding Enabled.” Release the Home button after you see the dialog and you’ll go back to the home menu but the app you’ve put into the background will continue to run.
To close the app, start it up again (and you’ll be at exactly where you left it) and hold the Home button again, this time until you get a dialog showing “Backgrounding Disabled.” After releasing the button, the app will close and you’ll go back to the home menu.

OpenSSH

Open SSH is a background utility that allows users to connect their iDevices over wi-fi to the Mac or PC. To use OpenSSH you will need a client programme on your machine such as WinSCP for windows. This will then allow you to log into your iDevice and look through the directories.
OpenSSH
OpenSSH is a great tool for theme developers as it allows them to install their theme to test it out before they release it to the public.

OpenSSH is free and is a great way to mod files on your idevice. Please be aware though that you can do potential damage with OpenSSH if you are unsure what you are doing with it.

LockInfo

LockInfo is a useful app that allows you to add information to your lockscreen such as; weather information, upcoming calendar events, missed calls, missed text messages and new emails.

Once installed, you can find LockInfo in your stock Settings application. The application is extremely customizable and has some pretty cool features.
LockInfo
In the settings you are able to turn on/off a Lockscreen and Homescreen option. A few other cool option include the ability to adjust the transparency of the mod, the ability to choose how you would like the Media Controls to display within the mod

It is well designed and the effect on the “collapsing” feature is smooth. Overall, the app is wonderful and worth using it.

ProSwitcher

ProSwitcher is a free Cydia app for multitasking on iPhone. The app is a front end to the app backgrounder. It allows users to easily switch between apps with a simple gesture. The app comes from the Palm Pre WebOS idea and looks similar.
ProSwitcher
The app uses a libary called libactivator and allows users to pick a gesture to start Proswitcher running. This could be anything from a double tap of the status bar to pinching the icons on the Springboard

Proswitcher is developed by chpwn & Ryan Petrich, developer of OverBoard and is available from the BigBoss repo for free.

qTweeter

qTweeter is the most popular Twitter app in Cydia. It allows you to update both your Twitter account and Facebook account at the same time.
qTweeter
With just a swipe down from the status bar the app appears. You can post videos, pics and geotag straight from this little tweak and the best bit about it is that you can open it while any other app is open also.

Another great thing about qStatus is that you are not restricted to 140 characters. There are a few times when you cannot fully express yourself in 140 characters. With our Tweet Long feature, you can fully
express yourself and get your message across.

You can download qTweeter v3.66 from the Cydia Store under BigBoss repository for $3.99 only.
