Earlier, Acer execs have scorned Apple’s iPad, the company has decided if you can’t lick ‘em, join ‘em. The Acer tabs are coming just in time for the holidays.
Acer has seen its sales dip severely as customers chose the iPad over their line of netbooks, so now the company is launching its own line of tablets next month. Acer CEO Gianfranco Lanci revealed to Dow Jones Newswire that their line of tablets, priced from $299 to $699, is set to debut in New York on November 23.
However, Lanci did not give any specs or say which operating system the tabs will use. Since we’re already seeing lowball Android tablets starting around $100, and $699 is in high-end iPad territory, it will be interesting to see what Acer can come up with to make its products stand out from the pack at those prices.
