We’ll focus less on print: USA Today.
I was also in the same state when I got the news that a USA Today is de-emphasizing its print edition and ramps up its effort to reach more readers and advertisers on mobile devices. The revolutionary response to iPhone and iPad might have compelled the association to give more emphasis to develop content for such devices format.
The associated stated that they want to give the people what they want. It’s no use go give those content or news which doesn’t interest them. Moreover, USA Today has been down with circulation figures.
There might be an another angle to the story it might be because of the huge revenues that they get from these iPhone, iPad and smartphone companies that now the newspaper want to focus on above mentioned devices.
They supported their move by stating
“If people are hitting the iPad like crazy, or the iPhone or other mobile devices, we’ve got to be there with the content they want, when they want it,” Associated Press reports.
Yes they are right being a medium of communication its their duty to provide the public with what they want. Because they very well know that their business run by the subscription of the public.
So the motto being “Give the public what they want”.
